The Seattle Cyclones returned from Southern California following a highly competitive run at the 2026 San Diego Open from February 14–16. Facing off against some of the region's top lineups, the Cyclones showcased remarkable resilience, finishing the tournament in 4th place with a 2–3 record.
From nail-biting chases to clinical bowling displays, the tournament provided invaluable match experience and several breakout performances.
Tournament Match Recap
Match 1: Surf Riders vs Seattle Cyclones
Outcome: Lost by 45 Runs (Surf Riders 123/6; Cyclones 78/8)
Highlights:
The Cyclones put on a discipline-focused bowling display, led by Ritul (2 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs) and Akshara (1 wicket for 10 runs in 3 overs).
Chasing 123, Laasya anchored the innings with a valiant 24 off 28 balls, including 2 boundaries. Ritul chipped in with 10 runs, but a regular fall of wickets kept the chase just out of reach.
Match 2: Seattle Cyclones vs Blazers Bravos
Outcome: Won by 22 Runs (Cyclones 131/7; Blazers Bravos 109/7)
Highlights:
The Cyclones bounced back with an outstanding batting performance. Ankita played a stellar, high-impact knock scoring 41 runs off 38 balls (4 boundaries), alongside Shillan who smashed 32 off 25 balls (4 boundaries) and Laasya's quick-fire 22 off 17 balls (3 boundaries) to post a strong total of 131.
In response, the Cyclones' bowling unit choked the Bravos' chase. Nupur was the pick of the bowlers with an exceptional 3 wickets for 18 runs in her 4-over spell. Jaivi (1/16) and Aira (1/14) kept the pressure high to secure a clinical 22-run victory.
Match 3: Seattle Cyclones vs Atlanta War Eagles
Outcome: Lost by 59 Runs (War Eagles 105/2; Cyclones 46/10)
Highlights:
A highly disciplined Atlanta batting side posted 105/2, with Ritul (1/12) and Nupur (1/14) keeping things tight.
The Cyclones' chase faltered early against a clinical attack. Aira fought hard for a patient 15 runs off 30 balls, and Shillan added 10 runs, but the side was bowled out for 46 in the 15th over.
Match 4: Blazers Bravehearts vs Seattle Cyclones
Outcome: Won by 6 Wickets (Bravehearts 64/10; Cyclones 65/4)
Highlights:
An absolute masterclass in bowling and fielding by the Cyclones. The bowling attack restricted the Bravehearts to just 64, with wickets shared by Ankita (2/6 in 2.3 overs), Nupur (2/9 in 4 overs), and Ritul (2/18).
The Cyclones chased down the target in 12 overs. Saanvi anchored the chase with 18 runs, while Ritul finished it off with a calm 11 off 13 balls*.
3rd Place Playoff: Seattle Cyclones vs DC Titans
Outcome: Lost by 2 Wickets (Cyclones 66/7; DC Titans 67/8)
Highlights:
Playing for the podium, the Cyclones batted first in a shortened 15-over match, posting 66/7. Ritul (14* off 21 balls) and Radha (13 off 21 balls) fought hard on a challenging pitch.
Defending a low total, the Cyclones' bowlers threw everything at the Titans. Jaivi bowled an sensational, match-defining spell taking 3 wickets for 12 runs in her 3 overs. Ritul supported with a superb 2 wickets for 10 runs. In a dramatic finish, the Titans barely crossed the line in the 14.4 overs, winning by just 2 wickets.
Head Coach Prajith Mudi reflected on the tournament: "The girls showed immense fight and character. Playing five high-intensity matches over three days in San Diego tested our limits, and the growth we showed as a unit is highly encouraging. We'll take these learnings back home and build on them for the rest of the 2026 season."
